Excursion Highlights
Choose from one of five customized excursions each day:
Geopolitical Landscape
•Participate in “Two Kinds of Reality,” a walk through the streets of South Tel Aviv with an Israeli activist to gain a deeper understanding of the complex reality of a thriving economy.
•Meet Amotz Asael, one of Israel’s leading economic journalists.
•Hear social commentator Hirsch Goodman and journalists from The Jerusalem Post and Ha’aretz.
Innovations: Green and Hi-tech
•Take a guided tour of the Tel-Aviv Hub—Israel’s incubator for social and environmental entrepreneurs.
•Dialogue with start-up entrepreneur Jonathan Medved about Israel’s economic and hi-tech revolution.
•Explore the Alexander River Project for a glimpse of one of Israel’s great environmental success stories.
Arts and Culture
•Participate in a workshop with world-reknowned artist David Moss.
•Join critic Vardit Gross on a guided tour of contemporary Israeli art and see the latest in Israeli fashion.
•Visit the Umm El Fahem Art Gallery and meet with its founder Said Abu Shukra.
Social Action
•Work harvesting fruit and vegetables for those in need.
•Visit Friends by Nature to learn about Ethiopian Israelis working to create a new vision for Israeli society.
•Hear the sounds of Acco’s emerging young musicians and learn about Israel’s educational kibbutzim.
Historic Israel
•Take a guided visit to recently excavated sites in Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter.
•Celebrate Israel’s Independence Day with a bike ride to the Yarkon River or a jeep ride on the “Burma Road.”
•Visit the remains of an ancient Canaanite city for a glimpse into the world that greeted Abraham and Sarah.
•Explore Masada, Herod’s palace near the Dead Sea and the site of the Jewish Zealots’ last stand against the Roman Legionnaires.
