Code Pink Lies: Chapter 2 in the Bamba Wars

Code Pink activists have proudly proclaimed that their "How dare Americans enjoy peanutty goodness"  petition to Trader Joes has nearly 20,000 signatures. 

What they don't mention is that the petition is rigged, so that one person can sign multiple times.  There is no email verification and no screening.   Its so janky, even a bot could do it.

That goes a long way explaining some of the *unusual* names on the petition.

In the meantime, shoppers report their stores have sold out of Israeli products across the county.  Across social media, they are proudly photographing the contents of their shopping carts and their receipts.

Some sadly could only photograph the empty shelves, after the products sold out. 

No doubt Jodie Evans and Medea Benjamin are anxiously sipping their low fat soy lattes , plotting on how to turn this into a "win".

Birds of a Feather. Israel Haters Unite to protest AIPAC

This weeks AIPAC policy Conference is the largest ever- with over 18,000 in attendance.  Jews and their diverse allies from all over the country have gathered in Washington DC in solidarity and support of a strong relationship between the US and Israel.

And of course, there are protests and planned disruptions.

Where else but an an AIPAC policy conference can  "Jewish" Voice for Peace, Code Pink, Al-Awda and International ANSWER find common cause with the Westboro Baptist Church?

Extremist anti- Israel groups planning on protesting AIPAC again

A consortium of  extremist anti-Israel groups, including Code Pink,  End The Occupation, Jewish Voice for Peace,  Students for Justice in Palestine East  and If Americans Knew have begun plans to disrupt the Washington AIPAC Policy Conference, in an effort to  "Shut Down AIPAC"

With nearly 14,000 expected in DC  to help nuture a strong relationship between Israel and America, the assorted fringe groups are going to have a rather difficult time.

Maybe their friends from Hezbollah will join them again this year.

 

Expect the usual shrill disruptions, inane signage and mindless blather that is characteristic of a Code Pink event.

As of now, their agenda includes.

February 28-March 3, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will be in DC to address AIPAC, join CODEPINK and Humanity for Palestine for actions to #ShutDownAIPAC!

Code Pink's grand Adventure in Jack London Square

Even by Code Pink's standards, "Operation Annoy Barbara Boxer" was an epic failure.  Having telegraphed their plan to “occupy”  the Senator’s office across the interwebs, the police were ready and waiting  for the group as they trickled in to Jack London Square on Tuesday, August 19th.

 

 

 

Code Pink organizers seemed hurt and baffled that they weren’t being allowed to take over the Senator’s office, but quickly set to work occupying the empty plaza.  It was hard for them. The plaza was very big, and their group was very small.

With zero visibility from the street and very little foot traffic, the group clearly regarded this primarily as a photo op.  “Pose by the address”, Cynthia Papermaster directed. “So everyone will know we were here”

Over 2 dozen eventually appeared . 

 

 They distributed pink schmattas, and. posed for photos.

 

 

 

They held vile signs.  They chanted "We support the Intifada" . They screamed "Go back to Germany" to  someone who made the mistake of coming over to talk to them.

 

Eventually they must have realized it was all in vain. The Code Pink pity party broke up 45 minutes early.

 

 

 

Another Code Pink Tantrum: Operation Annoy Barbara Boxer

The Middle east is exploding. The deaths in Syria number in the hundreds of thousands- millions have been displaced. The atrocities committed by ISIS in Iraq rival those of the Third Reich. There have been reports of the beheadings of children, the wholesale slaughter of members of ethnic minorities, the selling of women and children into sexual slavery.

But Code Pink is determined not to let the  real suffering in the world distract you.

Only Gaza matters.

Code Pink is planning another one of their shrill self-serving temper tantrums. California Senator Barbara Boxer is now in their cross-hairs. Sen Boxer, once desribed by Code Pink as "our beloved Senator Boxer" apparently isn't toeing their party line on Israel, and therefore must be made to suffer.  The group that once wrote  "We THANK Barbara Boxer yet again for being a true representative of the people and for standing up to the bullies in the White House and Congress" has turned on her.

Medea Benjamin ignores inquiries on her Caterpillar Investments

Medea Benjamin, BDS doyenne of Code Pink and Global Exchange is in deep denial.

After the BDS -defying  investments of her 12 million dollar "Benjamin Foundation" in Caterpillar, General Electric and Intel were daylighted , Medea's been laying low, hoping that people would forget.

Its not just the "Zionist" inquiries regarding her investments she is ignoring.

Her own supporters are questioning her, and are asking for explanations. Yesterday,  Burkely Hermann, a self described "occupy activist'" asked her directly.

And was met with nothing but silence.

Burkely Hermann is correct. Not only is the BDS hypocritical, its claim that it speaks for the Palestinian people has been  disproven

For some PA officials, BDS is a movement that acts against the true interests of the Palestinians. They say that the actions of those promoting BDS make the Palestinians appear as if they are not interested in peace and coexistence with Israel. BDS activists in Ramallah have succeeded in preventing several planned meetings between Israelis and Palestinians in Ramallah and east Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Authority is also worried that BDS is harming the Palestinians' relations with other countries. The most recent example of BDS efforts to damage Palestinians' relations with friendly countries occurred a few weeks ago, when the "anti-normalization" activists tried to disrupt a performance by an Indian dance troupe in Ramallah.

A PA official in Ramallah explained that BDS and its followers make the Palestinians appear as if they are all radicals who are only interested in boycotting and delegitimizing Israel. "This goes against the PLO's official policy, which is to seek a peace agreement with Israel based on the two-state solution," he said.

 BDS: Hypocritical and anti-peace. Is there anything else you need to know?

Code Pink apologists attempt to spin Medea Benjamins' Caterpillar investments

As the co-founder of Global Exchange and Code Pink , Medea Benjamin is at the forefront of the BDS movement except apparently, when it interferes with her own opportunities for financial gain.  As  Medea Benjamin is confronted by her peers regarding her foundations' investments in Caterpillar the explanation  spin has taken some curious routes.

In this discussion, Benjamin Doherty 's (@bangpound)  protected tweets seem to imply that this was  a strategy to allow Medea to vote at Caterpillar shareholder conferences, but that assertion is challenged by  Daniel Shunra, who asserts that the $120,000 investment is beyond what is needed to vote.

Alli McCraken, one of Medea's employees at Code Pink claimed that the investment was a holdover from the days when Medea's father ran the Foundation

Financial disclosure forms indicate that Susan Medea Benjamin was in control of the Benjamin foundation from at least 2009, so no, Alli.  Nice try, though.

Liars and hypocrites clearly need to spend more time fine-tuning their back-stories.  

Incidentally, the 2012 990s  for the Benjamin  Foundation no longer list Caterpillar as an asset, but  holdings in Intel and General Electric, also touted as "complicit in the occupation"  remain.

The take-home lesson from this episode?   For at least some  "progressive" ideologues,  profit trumps politics.  Medea Benjamin is a true 1 per-center

Multi Millionaire BDS'er Medea Benjamin is a shareholder of Caterpillar

The anti-Israel movement is built upon a fragile foundation of lies, omissions and hypocrisy. Shake it just a bit, it comes crumbling down. Wait for the dust to clear- you’ll be surprised at what’s revealed.

Recently Max Samarov revealed that a professional agitator, Dalit Baum was the author of the Loyola divestment referendum. Rather than being a student led, student organized and student written initiative, it was the work of a paid operative.

Dalit Baum is currently working for the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). Previously, she was the director of “Economic Activism for Palestine” working for Medea Benjamin’s Global Exchange. There is no indication Dalit used her position to give micro loans to Palestinians to build businesses and grow their economy. In Progressive-speak, “economic activism” means just one thing- BDS.

Medea Benjamin is the co-founder of Global Exchange. Wearing her Code Pink hat, she was front and center at the occupy movement, bemoaning the influence of the 1%. Yet both her and her colleague Jodie Evans are 1 percenters, who toy with their activists like true puppetmasters. Read how they set up and then abandoned their activists here

In spite of her populist rhetoric, Medea Benjamin controls the assets of a foundation worth 12 million dollars.

    

 

 

What does the Benjamin Foundation (Id # 84-1618483) spend its funds on?  Just what you’d expect. Extremist groups like Code Pink and JVP. Agitprop sites like Mondoweiss and Democracy now.  Thats not a surprise. However, this might be.

Where does Medea Benjamin invest her money?   In classic "Do as I say, not as I do" mode Medea's money is working hard for her in Intel, General Electric, and wait for it...Caterpillar. All objects du rage for the BDS cru. Apparently divestment does not begin at home.

Medea Benjamin may be fabulously wealthy, but she is as morally bankrupt and fundementally dishonest as the rest of the BDS cru.

International Women's day Delegation turned away by Egypt

The Lesson? When your plans call for travel through areas dominated by despotic regimes, buy travelers insurance.  You'd think Code Pink would have figured that out by now. They've been detained by Egypt before

Egypt has deported nearly 100 Gaza-bound activists, en route to Gaza for International Woman's day. Egypt controls the Rafah border crossing into Gaza

Anti-Israel activists Mairead Maguire and Medea Benjamin were deported earlier this week. Additionally, eleven women were sent back to Istanbul,  22 to Paris and six to Frankfurt.  65 activists have been deported over the past 24 hours. 

There are reports of a sit-in, or perhaps a stand-in by the unclear on the concept delegates, being staged at the Cairo Airport

Why were these women heading to Gaza?  Were they planning to stand in solidarity with the women of Gaza against the  oppressive Hamas regime?  Were they protesting polygamy, under-aged marriages, forced marriages, forced veilings,  honor killings? Were they protesting the poverty and domestic violence that characterizes many women's Lives in Gaza?

“Women’s rights in Gaza are regressing. Many decisions are being passed in secret and only become public by chance, such as the decision to destroy curriculum books that are thought to be morally corrupting, in addition to the imposition of the hijab in schools and the prohibition of female participation in folklore dancing. When Hamas officials are asked about these matters, they always end up finding shallow justifications,” said feminist activist Dunia al-Amal Ismail.

Ismail contends that whenever women call for change and an improvement in their social situation, they are asked to put their demands on hold under the pretext that it is not the right time; the people are fighting the Israeli occupation. Ismail, however, notes dangerous changes being made by the government pertaining to the endorsement of the penal code without informing the feminist movement. Causes like gender equality are seen as a western product and feminist movements are thought to contradict Islamic feminism. “Accusations are heaped upon the feminist movement, even though the struggle it led — on the level of amending laws and imposing quotas for women — has ushered in the participation of Hamas’ women in the legislative council,” she added...

The regression of the situation of women in the Gaza Strip is not only obvious to female activists, but it is also clear from the figures of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics for 2011. A total of 15% of families with a female majority suffer from extreme poverty in the Palestinian lands, with a rate of 20.6% in the Gaza Strip and 12.5% in the West Bank. In 2011, the unemployment rate among women reached 28.4% in the Palestinian lands compared to 13.8% in 2001.

No, they weren't. This has never been about addressing the real issues that women in Gaza face. International Women's Day - any day, and every day is just another reason for groups like Code pink to bash Israel.

Is Code Pink's Medea Benjamin in jail in Egypt?

I'd have a hard time believing anything spoken, emailed or tweeted from the likes of Code Pink, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. With that in mind, I present "Code Pink goes to jail"

A series of tweets from anti-Israel activist Medea Benjamin(nee Susan Benjamin- yes, she re-named herself after a character in Greek mythology best known for slaughtering her own children)  implies that she is behind bars in Egypt.

 The activist community already had a big laugh at Code pink, who recently used an Israeli platform, Wix to design a website promoting their trip to Gaza. BDS fail, girls.

Fresh from her aborted attempt to disrupt the AIPAC 2014 conference,  Medea apparently flew to Egypt. It was supposed to be a brief a pit stop before journeying on to Gaza for "International Woman's Day".

She's since tweeted  "I'm supposed to go w women's delegation to Gaza via Egypt but Egyptians put me in jail at airport".  Ooops.

Apparently the multimillionaire co-founder of global Exchange does not find the accommodations to her liking.

And the room service is terrible

And because its Code Pink,  they strategize on line, on twitter, so the world can see.

After all, no one in Egypt has ever heard of Twitter.

Alli McCracken, who is so dumb its painful then announces to the world. There are more coming.  Oops.

Its hard for me to muster up any sympathy. After all, Gaza needs Code Pink like a lamb needs a wooly blanket.  Gaza is doing quite well without them.

Medea Benjamin has been deported to Turkey. A press release issued by Code Pink states she was treated "brutally" by Egyptian authorities.

Did Code Pink Hire spammers to hijack AIPAC Twitter timeline?

Its low, even by Code Pink's  already subterranean standards. Its also quite revealing.

Code Pink has dozens of "Sample tweets" listed on their website, in an attempt  to hijack the AIPAC national conference twitter feed.  But they just couldn't rely on their flighty activists leave anything to chance.

Instead,  a variety of egg avatar accounts and twerps for hire appear to have been enlisted to the task.

Brand new profiles, following no one and with no followers are now tweeting Code Pinks regurgitated talking points.

Other profiles have taken a break from their usual "work" of promoting personal injury attorneys, hack tools, universal life insurance and essays for hire to spam the AIPAC14 twitter feed.

Its like watching a train wreck.  It might very well be a jump the shark moment for Code Pink.

Meet some of Code Pink's new "employee/ activists".  Nguyen Van Tanh  and Sudeep Gupta couldn't even be bothered to create a real avatar for the task.

Imagine a "grassroots" activist group with more money than activists.  Imagine a group so desperate to drown out 14,000 American voices that this is the best they could come up with.  Imagine a group with such low moral standards they'd stoop to this level.

Incidentally, Michael Rabb is a rabid anti Israel organizer. His fellow activists look away when he publicly declares his support for Gilad Atzmon  and willfully ignore his erudite comments  such as  "...the ultimate cause of the “problem” in Palestine is the Zionist Jewish project to establish a Jewish homeland (Jewish state) in Palestine for Jews, of the Jews by the Jews."  Michael Rabb endorses the usual lame brained conspiracy theories and has promoted the picketing of synagogues

Rather than being shunned by the Palestinian "peace" activists, instead Michael is embraced. His antisemitism  was conveniently ignored at the Organizing conference of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation where he presented a divestment workshop.

The real question for Code Pink and JVP remains- why do you consistently stand side by side with  haters of the Jewish people and of Israel?  Why do you consistently aid and abet anti-semites?

Code Pink's new website, promoting its Woman's delegation to Gaza was created using Wix  Its a great choice with cloud-based web development , easy templates, and no coding required.  It might be the first smart act we've seen from Code Pink in a long time.




They overlooked one crucial thing. Code Pink is one of the leaders of the BDS movement, and Wix is an Israeli company. Ooops. BDS fail

San Francisco Voice for Israel. Not a Eulogy, I hope.

Reading  the Elder of Ziyon's  tribute to Sussex Friends of Israel brought back memories of San Francisco Voice for Israel, a local grass roots Israel activist group that did well at everything, except perhaps self-promotion.

San Francisco Voice for Israel was established in 2004 in occupied northern California as a grass roots response to the blatant demonization of Israel seen on the streets of San Francisco.

They organized. They wrote letters to the editor. They blogged. They countered every anti-Israel event for miles, making sure there was balance and truth.

They stood against thousands, documenting hate, documenting the antisemitism of the "progressive left"

They documented the willingness of such groups as Jewish Voice for peace  to turn a blind eye and stand shoulder to shoulder with those that would destroy Israel as the state of the Jewish people

SFV4I routinely stood strong in this "hub of demonization", sometimes thousands strong,

and sometimes with just a few stalwarts.

In 2008 one of their best and brightest was found dead in an elevator shaft, in the building where he took Arabic classes.

That didn't stop them. Days after Dan Kliman's death they stood up against jihadis at the annual AIPAC dinner who chanted "Zionists watch your back or we will throw you in the shaft"

Utilizing a variety of actions that went beyond the traditional "counterprotest",

SFV4I activists participated in random acts of urban beautification,

 brought lunch to a Code Pink organized hunger strike,

and according to rumor, were involved with Oakland Women in Black, which held a silent vigil at the Berkeley Sabeel conference

Yet they still had time to participate in vibrant and colorful celebrations of Jewish life, including the traditional Lag B'Omer bonfire.

This isn't a eulogy. Not yet. They'll be back, if needed.
