Use Red Hand Day to raise awareness of the plight of Palestinian child soldiers

February 12 is Red Hand Day, a world wide initiative to raise awareness against the use of child soldiers

This could be an opportunity to raise awareness about the cynical use of Palestinian children as soldiers in the war to eliminate Israel. Instead, highly politicized group have blurred the message, claiming   "Children are involved in numerous armed conflicts all over the world. Recent examples are Afghanistan, Chad, Centralafrican Republic, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), India, Iraq, Israel and the occupied territories, Myanmar (Burma), Pakistan, Philippines, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Thailand and Yemen. "

Hamas trains more Child-Soldiers

Over 10,000 Palestinian teens have graduated from a Hamas run military training camp, held at the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades training compound in Gaza. The graduation ceremony was attended by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Youth as young as 15 participated in the camp, dubbed "Pioneers of Resistance"

The youth were trained to fire sniper rifles and practiced simulated attacks on Israeli targets.

The use of child soldiers among the Palestinians is nothing new. It was documented in Life magazine in June 1970

Gaza: Summer Time and the Living is Easy

Thousands of children between the ages of 6 and 16 are enrolled in Islamic Jihad summer camps in Gaza. These children won’t be making s’mores, or tying lanyards, however. They are being drilled in military maneuvers and are being trained to use AK-47's. An AFP correspondent listed some of the activities the Islamic Jihad summer camp offers its campers: Weapons use, jumping over fire and crawling under barbed wire, all performed to the tune of exploding charges. Yet its not all fun and games for the children of Gaza- camp organizers also promise religious lessons.

The Palestinians use of child soldiers is nothing new. Life Magazine documented this phenomenon back in 1970.

Still think Israel has a partner for peace?

Life magazine documented the Palestinians use of child soldiers as early as 1970. Not much has changed since then. This week, over  3,000 Palestinian teenagers graduated from a Hamas military training program in the Gaza Strip.

Students were taught such life skills as climbing down buildings on ropes, jumping through obstacle courses and crawling under barbed wire. Older students were trained to use light weapons. All Gaza High schools offer terror training as an elective. 

 From the Times of Israel:

“My officer taught me the values of courage, sacrifice and love of jihad, as well as some battle tactics,” said Radwan Wasfi, 15, whose black-painted face dripped with sweat after going through a drill. “I feel that I can free my energy in a good way. I can do for real what I do in video games.”

Hamas’s prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, who attended the ceremony held at a soccer stadium, said he had ordered his education minister to establish a full-time military college to open next September.

Do you have any doubt that these young Jihadis will be used as cannon fodder during the next skirmish with Israel, simply so the Hate Israel cru can shed their crocodile tears regarding "children" killed in the conflict?
