The Truth Optional World of Gaza's Dr. Basem Naim

Dr. Basem Naim is head of the Council on International Relations in Gaza , and the former minister of Health in Gaza.

He's among the top tier of Hamas.  He knows better. When he lies, he does so deliberately.

                                         

Today, Basem Naim tweeted out a photo of the instagram famous daughter of an American basketball player, claiming she was Bayan Abu Khammash, a toddler allegedly killed in an Israeli airstrike.  While the truth was struggling to get its pants on, the image went viral.

The "Ace" family,  who are active on social media have not yet issued a statement over the shameless misappropriation and exploitation of their child's image

This is not the first time Dr. Basem Naim has used his Twitter account to spread misinformation.

After 4 rockets were launched against Israel today, hitting the town of Sderot  the Israel Air Force struck 4 Hamas military targets in Gaza. Palestinian sources claimed a 10 year old boy was killed, and his sister seriously wounded. 

Someone who ought to know better- Dr. Basem Naim,  Head of Council on International Relations, Former Minister of Health of Gaza has tweeted out this photo,.retweeted 45 times in just an  hour claiming this child was killed in the strikes earlier today.

Does that even look like a 10 year old?  Its not. Its a photo from at least 2011, resurrected by an official in the Hamas government for the express purpose of demonizing Israel

This isn't the first time Dr.Basem Naim has played fast and easy with the truth.  Don't expect a retraction anytime soon.

Gaza's Dr. Basem Naim exploits image of disabled child

Its Pallywood at its nadir and its nothing less than shameless exploitation of a disabled child, by an official of the Hamas government in Gaza. 

Someone who ought to know better- Dr. Basem Naim,  the Former Minister of Health of Gaza has sent out a photo of a disabled toddler, claiming the boy was a victim of "Israeli terror". 

Nothing could be further from the truth. The child in this photo is Mohammed Al-Farra., who is living in Israel's Tel Hashomer hospital after being abandoned by his family.

Born in Gaza with a rare genetic disease, Mohammed's hands and feet were amputated because of complications from his condition, and the 3 1/2-year-old carts about in a tiny red wheelchair. His parents abandoned him, and the Palestinian government won't pay for his care, so he lives at the hospital with his grandfather.

"There's no care for this child in Gaza, there's no home in Gaza where he can live," said the grandfather, Hamouda al-Farra.

This cynical, exploitative and fraudulent image has been retweeted 179 times.

This isn't the first time Mohammed's image has been used to demonize Israel,  but to have the Former Minister of Health of Gaza spreading the lie makes it particularly egregious.
