Direct flights from San Francisco to Israel .

Tourism to Israel is at record levels.  The tiny state- the size of New Jersey- entertained over 4 million visitors last year.  To accommodate this huge demand, airports across the globe are adding more flights to Israel.

Check out this beauty, courtesy of El Al:

The El Al dreamline is adorned with pictures of the Golden Gate bridge, and San Francisco's iconic cable cars. The artwork is by illustrator Shay Vadel and Amir Assayag. Its maiden flight will be May 13.

Tourism to Israel at Record Levels

Hows that boycott working out for you?

In 2001 at the notorious Durban Conference in South Africa,  Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions emerged as a tactic against Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.

A full 17 years after this cynically orchestrated attempt to isolate the worlds only Jewish state, tourism is at record levels.

I'm calling BDS fail.

From Globes:

485,500 tourists visited Israel in October, 14% more than in October 2017. The Ministry of Tourism estimates that they contributed over NIS 2.5 billion to the Israeli economy. 3.4 million tourists visited Israel in January-October 2018, 15% more than in the corresponding period last year, and the Ministry of Tourism is aiming to increase this number to four million a year. The increase in tourism and the prosperity of hoteliers and the tourist industry also depends on the relative tranquility in the regional security situation. According to Ministry of Tourism figures, tourists stay in Israel for an average of eight days.

April brings record number of tourists to Israel

Does BDS have any real economic impact?  Does it have any impact at all?
Apparently not.
Record levels of tourists are visiting Israel

From Algemeiner

The number of tourists visiting Israel reached an unprecedented peak in April, continuing an upward trend that sees more and more people visiting the Jewish state each year.

A record-breaking 385,000 visitor entries were recorded in the month, 9 percent more than in the same month last year, according to Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics. 342,000 of these visitors were tourists (defined as staying more than one night), which is 14 percent more than in April 2013....

“We hope that the record for incoming tourism into Israel will be broken again this year, as in the previous two years,” Tourism Minister Dr. Uzi Landau said. “We anticipate that the visit of Pope Francis at the end of May will cause a significant spike in incoming tourism and we welcome the faithful with open arms. Those that come to Israel will discover a country not only blessed with so many holy sites, but also spectacular landscapes, rich in history, culture and night life.”

Another BDS Fail - Tourism to Israel at Record High

Over 1.4 million visitors arrived in Israel in January-May 2012, 6% more than the same period in 2011, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported Monday.

Tourism Ministry: Incoming Tourism Record Highs for January-May 2012

From Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov: "The consistent increase in incoming tourism and the new record highs prove that the investment in the industry contributes to increased income for the economy and creates tens of thousands of new jobs. Against the background of the ongoing global economic crisis, the importance of investment in engines for growth becomes sharper and tourism is a central player in maintaining the robust Israeli economy."

Based on the Central Bureau of Statistics data released today, 1.4 million
visitors arrived in the months January – May 2012, 6% more than the same
period in 2011 and 4% more than 2010, which was a record year. Of these, 1.2
million were tourists, 3% more than the same period last year.

Increased tourism to Israel: another in a series of colossal BDS failures.
