JVP then reprints the BDS call to action. How dare the Jews shamelessly plant trees in Sacramento!Dear JVP friends:
Sacramento BDS will be protesting tomorrow as the Jewish Community Relations Council plants a tree in the Sacramento Sister City Garden in Natomas. See the statement below for an explanation. You're invited to join.
Join SacramentoBDS in protesting the cover-up of Israel ’s illegal occupation and its destruction of Palestinian trees and lives.
This Sunday, January 12, 2014, 9:30-11:30am, SacBDS will be bannering and leafleting at South Natomas Park , 2901 Truxel Road (at Pebblewood & Truxel) while the local-Israel lobby affiliate, the Jewish Community Relations Council, plants its tree for Ashkelon, Israel in the Sacramento Sister City Garden. Take I-5 north to El Camino, go right (west) to Truxel and left (north) on Truxel. We’ll meet on Pebblewood a ¼ block or so in from Truxel and be bannering at Truxel and Pebblewood and at the park’s south entrance near Bannon Creek & Truxel)Using the cover of the Jewish Religious holiday of the trees, Tu B'Shvat, the JCRC is again abusing the Sister City program to promote Israel and thereby its policies of occupation, apartheid and violation of Palestinian Rights. Abusing the sister City program? Apparently JVP and its affiliates are still reeling from their unanimous defeat in preventing Ashkelon Israel from being named a sister city to Sacramento.
Sacramento's newest Sister city is Ashkelon Israel |
Fascinating that the JVP email promotes a description of the Jewish community relations council as a "local Israel lobby affiliate" In their warped mind, feeding the elderly, planting trees, fighting antisemitism and advocating for 40 % of the Jewish people worldwide is all part of the world wide Jewish conspiracy.
