This Sunday June 2 from 11- 5 is Israel in the Gardens, a joyous celebration of our heritage, our culture and our ties to our ancient homeland Israel. Its a day of fun, food, crafts and music.
Headlining at Yerba Beuna Gardens is Israeli musician and composer Mosh Ben Ari. Mosh is of Yemeni, Iraqi and Russian extraction and plays acoustic and classic guitar, Indian sarod, Persian tar, Turkish jumbush, Moroccan ginberi and bass. In 1997 he founded the world music ensemble Sheva which included both Jewish and Muslim members.
Also performing will be the Hebrew Project, an African American choir from Stockton
And as always, the young talent of the Bay area will be on stage as well, with ensembles from Contra Costa Day School, Brandeis Hillel Day School, and the JCCSF school of dance performing.
There will be Folk dance, Zumba, Caporeia. There will be drum circles, and short live action and animation films. There will be crafters from throughout the area exhibiting their wares. Innovation Alley will feature high tech Israeli start-ups - participants are encouraged to bring their resumes. Businesses are hiring. Summer camps. Day Schools. Local Non-profits. Its all at Israel in the Gardens.

And yes, faced with the unbearable discomfort of a joyous celebration of Jewish community, the usual suspects from Jewish Voice for Peace are planning on protesting the event. Best ignore the crones,come inside the festival, and instead celebrate life with 20,000 of your best friends.
