Amazing life-saving kangeroo toothpaste developed in Israel

Lumpy jaw disease is a serious periodontal condition for captive kangaroos and other macropods throughout the world. Working with veterinary professionals, professors at Hebrew University's dentistry and pharmacy schools developed a topical, slow-release, one-time treatment. Until now, the only way to treat periodontal diseases in kangaroos has been antibiotics administered several times a day, followed by solitary confinement to prevent cross-infection of the rest of the herd- a difficult and stressful process for the animals.
