HARRY VAN BOMMEL: DUTCH TERROR SUPPORTER

In January of this year, people around the world were outraged to hear that a Dutch parliamentarian (Harry van Bommel) had joined an anti-Israel protest at which calls to exterminate the Jews were chanted.
They should not have been surprised, though. It is quite standard for Dutch activists to support some of the most reprehensible movements - the Khmer Rouge were Dutch darlings in the seventies, the narco-terrorists in Columbia are currently favourites, and Arab psychopaths have always been valued highly by 'sociaal bewogen Nederlanders'.

On Ray Cook's blog, more detail is provided about that parliamentarian.

DOUBLE DUTCH
http://www.raymondcook.net/blog/index.php/2009/04/20/alliance-left-and-right-against-israel-and-thejews/

QUOTE:
"Of course, the common interest of the extreme Left, Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran is their loathing of Zionism. The fact that this includes loathing of Jews generally is glossed over by the Left, is denied or represented as paranoia or an attempt to scotch criticism of Israel. It is why the Dutch Labour Party supports demonstrations at which bigots call out "Hamas Hamas, Joden aan het Gas" (Hamas, Hamas, Jews to the gas)."

The most recent riotous manifestations of that chant were during the Gaza cleanup, most notoriously the demonstration on January 3 in Amsterdam at which Socialist Party member of parliament Harry van Bommel played a leading role.

The cited blogger, Ray Cook (http://www.raymondcook.net/blog/), provides a link to a video of Harry van Bommel at that demonstration.
One of the other chants in that clip is "Hamas, Hamas, nafdeek ya Falastin" ('Hamas, Hamas, we will redeem you oh Palestine').

What Harry van Bommel chants is "Intifada, intifada, Palestina vrij" ('violent terrorist struggle, violent terrorist struggle, Palestine free').

Anyhow, click on the link above and read the post. It's about the very European idea that despite Hamas swearing to exterminate all Jews, Israel should just shut up and accept them as a partner.
Harry van Bommel would even go one step further.

HARRY VAN BOMMEL IN GROSS DETAIL

Emerson Vermaat goes into quite some detail on old Harry here:
http://www.pipelinenews.org/index.cfm?page=vermaatid=1.8.09%2Ehtm
[Gretta Duisenberg and Harry van Bommel - Two Dutch Hamas Apologists ]

QUOTE:
"Harry van Bommel, that other demonstrator in Amsterdam who shouted "Intifadah! Intifadah!" is a very interesting fellow. In fact, his secular lifestyle differs substantially from the severe lifestyle of his fundamentalist Hamas friends. Although a married man, van Bommel has a reputation of being a womanizer. There even is at least one report claiming he harassed a Jordanian woman employed by the Dutch Embassy in Amman. She officially complained in July 2007 saying she had been harassed by Dutch Socialist Party member of parliament van Bommel during the latter's visit to Jordan. "

There's lots more where that came from.

Along with some lovely background on that verkrampte antisemitische kreng, the widow Gretta Duisenberg.

He frequently visited the Middle East and North Africa, usually for Dutch television. In 1996 he made the TV news report "The Making of a Suicide Bomber," which was aired in over 40 countries (World Television News, WTN). In a 1997 Dutch study on Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism the author described the central role of Osama bin Laden in international terrorism, being the first European journalist to do so.

Say no to Swedish Meatballs!

Coming up this week: a calm and rational protest at the Swedish Consulate.

Where: 120 Montgomery Street (at Sutter), San Francisco
When: Wednesday September 2, 5-6 PM

See this post:
http://proisraelbaybloggers.blogspot.com/2009/08/protest-at-swedish-consulatedemand.html

Why: Because the Swedish Government decided to stand behind the mock-journalist Donald Bostrom, who alleged, without even a shred of evidence, that Israeli soldiers were kidnapping and killing Palestinians in order to harvest organs to be used for transplantation.

For a good backgrounder:
http://proisraelbaybloggers.blogspot.com/2009/08/blood-libels-and-swedish-self.html

QUOTE:
"As documented in the Jerusalem Post, Bostrom freely admits that he has no evidence whatsoever to back up this blood libel, but indicted that it is up to Israelis to prove innocence in this matter. When the Swedish Ambassador to Israel rightfully condemned this hate speech hiding behind the curtain of "free speech", she was condemned back home in Sweden where some members of the government urged her recall. The government of Sweden has refused to condemn the blood libel, on grounds of "freedom of the press." Yet Sweden apparently has no problems censoring free speech when it is militant Muslims who are upset—in 2006, the Swedish Foreign Minister shut down a website displaying cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed."

End quote.

Further background here:

Essential reading here:
http://zionism-israel.com/israel_news/2009/08/why-lieberman-took-on-sweden.html

BALLS!

The accusation of organ harvesting is of course little more than pro-Palestinian propaganda by a writer who stands infamous for an extremist anti-Jewish and anti-Israel point of view, printed in a feuilleton notorious for pandering to the lowest biases and preconceptions of its readers.

If Donald Bostrom cannot find news on his doorstep, or in his toilet, he will invent it. Reporter is a name for which he can but strive, a title which he scarce deserves.

And Aftonbladet, the gutter rag which printed his opinion piece (they themselves called it such, as if to excuse its dissemination), thrives on scandal, dead babies, raped farm animals, embarrassed celebrities, and other staples of newspapers at the kitty-box liner niveau of news media.
It is, which surprises me, one of the most popular papers in Scandinavia. I would have thought that they were better than that over there. But apparently, not.

So, to indicate that civilized people do not consider racialist rumor-mongering, hate speech, and vile bigotry, the normal or natural content of news media, nor matters covered by freedom of the press and justifying the official defense that Donald Bostrom and Aftonbladet received, we will be outside the Swedish Consulate during rush hour Wednesday.

See you there. Please do not bring herring.
If you have a recipe for Swedish Meatballs that contains no Swedes, so much the better.

Palestine TV is a light unto the nations

Sometimes Palestinian politics is all about perks and cushy jobs. Sometimes, rank warlordism.
If the collapse of Fatah in Gaza was due to inefficiency, corruption, and the gangster politics typical of fiefdoms of the Arab world, the eventual social collapse in the West Bank may be due to a combination of limpness, and mis-applied inter-Palestinian force.

Fatah, at times, seems not so much moderate as clumsily opportunistic.

Consider the recent shenanigans at Palestine TV.

Quote:
"Abed Rabbo lost his temper last week when Palestine TV failed to dispatch a crew to film Fayad during a ceremony to inaugurate a village water project. [cut] Dahoudi and news editors have long been under heavy pressure from Abed Rabbo to devote much of the news bulletins to Fayad's activities and statements."
End quote.

Not just any temper tantrum, Abed Rabbo's hissy fit erupted into the abrupt dismissal of
Muhammad Dahoudi, director of Palestine TV.

Quote:
"......said that the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, was also under immense pressure from Abed Rabbo and his staff to give more prominence to Fayad in its news coverage."
End quote.

Apparently Mr Dahoudi is not accustomed to being treated like a dog.
Hence his disobedience, and Yasser Abed Rabo responding by angrily firing him.

But it could've been much worse. Much, much worse.

Quote:
"This was not the first time that Abed Rabbo has made a controversial decision regarding Palestine TV. A few weeks ago, he issued an order banning the station from covering news related to Tayeb Abdel Rahim, a member of the Fatah Central Committee and a top aide to Abbas. The row between Abed Rabbo and Abdel Rahim later escalated to an exchange of gunfire between their bodyguards and aides. "
End quote.

As an example of 'Freedom of the Press', the soap-opera-like tumult at Palestine TV is not in the top ten. Unless under the file-heading of 'Banana Republic'.
As an illustration of "how not to advance the cause of modernity", however, it is absolutely in keeping with the traditions of many of the neighboring Arab countries.
Positively orthodox, in fact.

Stay tuned to this channel for frequent updates on the cheerful bumbling, zany highjinks, and 'boys-will-be-boys' romantic comedy over at Ramallah's favourite television station.

No hero's welcome in Libya - Saif Al-Islam El-Qaddafi

INTRODUCTION: I am placing this New York Times op-ed piece here with neither snide comment nor modification. The reason is that it is the point of view of the Libyans, it is void of emotional baggage, it is a valid personal statement, and it is not by any means incitement.

It is a decently formulated short piece, diplomatic and reasonably sensitive.
As such it deserves to be part of the discourse, and needs to be part of the record.

NO HERO'S WELCOME IN LIBYA
By Saif Al-Islam El-Qaddafi

Tripoli, Libya - CONTRARY to reports in the Western press, there was no "hero’s welcome" for Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi when he returned to Libya earlier this month.

There was not in fact any official reception for the return of Mr. Megrahi, who had been convicted and imprisoned in Scotland for the 1988 Lockerbie bombing. The strong reactions to these misperceptions must not be allowed to impair the improvements in a mutually beneficial relationship between Libya and the West.

When I arrived at the airport with Mr. Megrahi, there was not a single government official present. State and foreign news media were also barred from the event. If you were watching Al Jazeera, the Arabic news network, at the time the plane landed, you would have heard its correspondent complain that he was not allowed by Libyan authorities to go to the airport to cover Mr. Megrahi’s arrival.

It is true that there were a few hundred people present. But most of them were members of Mr. Megrahi’s large tribe, extended families being an important element in Libyan society. They had no official invitation, but it was hardly possible to prevent them from coming.

Coincidentally, the day Mr. Megrahi landed was also the very day of the annual Libyan Youth Day, and many participants came to the airport after seeing coverage of Mr. Megrahi’s release on British television. But this was not planned. Indeed, we sat in the plane on the tarmac until the police brought the crowd to order.

So, from the Libyan point of view, the reception given to Mr. Megrahi was low-key. Had it been an official welcome, there would have been tens if not hundreds of thousands of people at the airport. And the event would have been carried live on state television.

At the same time, I was extremely happy for Mr. Megrahi’s return. Convinced of his innocence, I have worked for years on his behalf, raising the issue at every meeting with British officials.

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair recently confirmed my statement that Libya put Mr. Megrahi’s release on the table at every meeting. He also made it clear that there was never any agreement by the British government to release Mr. Megrahi as part of some quid pro quo on trade — a statement I can confirm.

Mr. Megrahi was released for the right reasons. The Scottish justice secretary, Kenny MacAskill, freed Mr. Megrahi, who is dying of cancer, on compassionate grounds. Mr. MacAskill’s courageous decision demonstrates to the world that both justice and compassion can be achieved by people of good will. Despite the uproar over the release, others agree. A recent survey of Scottish lawyers showed that a majority of those surveyed agreed with the secretary’s decision.

It’s worth pointing out that we Libyans are far from the only ones who believe that Mr. Megrahi is innocent of this terrible crime. In June 2007, the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission determined that a "miscarriage of justice" may have occurred and referred the case to the High Court. A retired Scottish police officer who worked on the case has signed a statement saying that evidence was fabricated. The credibility of a key witness, a shopkeeper in Malta, has subsequently been disputed by the Scottish judge who presided in the review. Even the spokesman of a family group of Lockerbie victims has said that the group was not satisfied that the verdict in the Megrahi case was correct.

What’s more, although we Libyans believe that Mr. Megrahi is innocent, we agreed in a civil action to pay the families of the victims, and we have done so. In fact, we could have withheld the final tranche of payments last year, because the United States had not kept its part of the deal, to fully normalize relations within the formally agreed-upon time frame. Still, we made the final payment as an act of good will.

The truth about Lockerbie will come out one day. Had Mr. Megrahi been able to appeal his case through the court, we believe that his conviction would have been overturned. Mr. Megrahi made the difficult decision to give up his promising appeal in order to spend his last days with his family.

Libya has worked with Britain, the United States and other Western countries for more than five years now to defuse the tensions of earlier times, and to promote trade, security and improved relations. I believe that clarifying the facts in the Lockerbie case can only further assist this process.

I once again offer my deepest sympathy to the families and loved ones of those lost in the Lockerbie tragedy. They deserve justice. The best way to get it is through a public inquiry. We need to know the truth.

=================================================

Please note: Many have stated that the families of the Lockerbie tragedy have been denied justice. Perhaps they have.

I do not believe that there has been justice in this matter. But neither do I believe that real justice in this case is even possible. Throughout history state-actors have committed gross crimes and engineered horrible events, often for motives praised and supported by their leaders and their societies.
Almost all nations have done so. And seldom has there been adequate retribution or recompense for those crimes. Human history is an un-ending progression of brutalities and injustices. That's just the way it is.

This does not make it good, nor does it make it right. I am not offering this as an excuse, merely as an observation. We must accept that justice will not always prevail, and that it is unrealistic to expect that it must.

There can never be justice for Babi Yar. There can never be justice for the tens of thousands of Afrikaner women and children starved to death by the British in camps during the Boer War. There can never be justice for the thousands of Yemenis gassed during Egypt's involvement in the highlands (1962 - 1970). There can never be justice for the millions of Punjabis massacred in the sectarian violence of partition. There can never be justice for the quarter of a million people slaughtered by the Japanese Imperial Army after the fall of Nanking.

Once time moves on, identifying the guilty becomes more a matter of passionate argument, and assigning blame frequently devolves to damage control, and limiting the fall-out.
The victims only benefit from the exercise is that they are not forgotten.

Protest at the Swedish Consulate—Demand Condemnation of the Blood Libel

ACTION ALERT—PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY

Protest at the Swedish Consulate—Demand Condemnation of the Blood Libel!
Wednesday September 2, 5-6 PM
120 Montgomery Street (at Sutter), San Francisco

The left-wing Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet published an article on August 17 by reporter Donald Bostrom alleging that Israeli soldiers were kidnapping and killing Palestinians in order to harvest organs to be used for transplanation. As documented in the Jerusalem Post, Bostrom freely admits that he has no evidence whatsoever to back up this blood libel, but indicted that it is up to Israelis to prove innocence in this matter. When the Swedish Ambassador to Israel rightfully condemned this hate speech hiding behind the curtain of "free speech", she was condemned back home in Sweden where some members of the government urged her recall.

The government of Sweden has refused to condemn the blood libel, on grounds of "freedom of the press." Yet Sweden apparently has no problems censoring free speech when it is militant Muslims who are upset—in 2006, the Swedish Foreign Minister shut down a website displaying cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed.

We are not asking the Swedish government to take any legal action against either Bostrom or Aftonbladet. A simple condemnation of this unfounded accusation, that echoes blood libels against Jews through the ages, is all that was asked of the government of Sweden by the government of Israel.

StandWithUs/ San Francisco Voice for Israel will hold a vigil outside the office building in which the Swedish Consulate offices are located. We will be handing out flyers to publicize the Swedish government's refusal to condemn this blood libel. We will have flags and some signs; please feel free to bring signs with statements such as "Sweden: Condemn the Blood Libel" and "Sweden: Condemn Hate Speech." Please note that our protest is targeted at the government of Sweden rather than Swedish citizens or individuals of Swedish descent. Do not bring signs or graphics offensive to any racial or ethnic group including but not limited to Arabs, Islam, or Palestinians in general. Signs in violation of our policies do not help the pro-Israel cause and will not be allowed.

For more information about the Swedish blood libel article and Sweden's funding of Palestinian pro-terror organizations and anti-Israel hate speech, see the following:

BFUU - sorry, so sorry, so very very sorry! Sorry!

On Monday June 8, 2009, the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists hosted Gilad Atzmon, an ex-Israeli who writes and promotes classically anti-Semitic opinions.

[Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, 1924 Cedar Street at Bonita, Berkeley.]

Gilad Atzmon is, fortunately, the best representative of Gilad Atzmon

QUOTE:
"Throughout the centuries, Jewish bankers bought for themselves some real reputations of backers and financers of wars, and even one communist revolution. Though rich Jews had been happily financing wars using their assets, Alan Greenspan, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve of the United States, found a far more sophisticated way to finance the wars perpetrated by his ideological brothers Libby and Wolfowitz."
END QUOTE

While this statement is in many ways a classic anti-Semitic canard, the modern-day accusation that Alan Greenspan somehow has an agenda straight out of the Protocols is utterly bizzare.

QUOTE:
"I would suggest that perhaps we should face it once and for all: the Jews were responsible for the killing of Jesus who, by the way, was himself a Palestinian Jew. …..Why is it that the Jews who repeatedly demand that the Christian world should apologise for its involvement in previous persecutions, have never thought that it is about time that they apologised for killing Jesus?"
END QUOTE

Gilad Atzmon and his patrons at the BFUU should perhaps reread the New Testament. There were four witnesses who avered that the Romans executed Jesus, using a particularly Roman method. Of course, those four witnesses (Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John) were Jews, so perhaps they cannot be believed.....
Certainly they would not be lent an ear at the BFUU, which instead prefers to listen to Converted Jews, Wiccan Jews, Gone Pagan Jews, Bizzaro Jews, and Self-hating Jews.
Oh, and anti-Semites.

QUOTE:
"I'm not going to say whether it is right or not to burn down a synagogue, I can see that it is a rational act."
END QUOTE

It is likely that Gilad Atzmon would prefer that the synagogue be burned down with the Jews still in it, but he'll probably settle for burning empty synagogues if he has to.

Sources for the quotes above were mister Atzmon's own writings, which can be found like a cancer all over the internet.
As if that's not enough, Atzmon also supports a holocaust denier in the UK named Paul Eisen, as well as the notorious Swedish fascist writing under the pen name "Israel Shamir", who insisted that the Jews indeed slaughtered Christian children for their blood, and claimed that "Auschwitz was an internment facility, attended by the Red Cross" - Atzmon called Shamir "a unique and advanced thinker".
Much like he himself no doubt is.

The BFUU "concert" was co-sponsored by the church's Social Justice Committee and two anti-Israel groups: Bay Area Women in Black and International Solidarity Movement. The BFUU claimed not to have been aware of Atzmon's promotion of hate speech when they agreed to host the event, but they were made aware of all of it more than a week before the date and they refused to cancel.

The spirited protest in front of the church that evening remained peaceful, except for several supporters of Gilad Atzmon - who may have been members in good standing of the church. As I am not privy to the inner machinations of Israel-bashers, church-related or otherwise, I cannot say.
One of the Atzmon supporters carried a Hamas banner and wore a Sheikh Nasrallah t-shirt, potent testimony to his peaceful nature and desire for an equitable solution to the Jewish question.

Since that evening, a dialogue event was held between members of the Church and the pro-Israel element, at which a talking stone was passed around and several people spoke of how hurt they were by the negative publicity.

We feel their pain.

This totally opportunistic re-hashing of the entire ghastly mess should serve to indicate how sorry this particular writer feels about it all.

Sincerely.

You may go ahead and turn your other cheek any time now.

Amnesty International's Gaza War

Just about two months ago, Amnesty International issued its own proforma condemnation of Israel, in the form of a predictably biased and unreservedly pro-Palestinian report on Operation Cast Lead.

If you expected Amnesty International to condemn indiscriminate rockets at the civilians of Sderot, you would have been disappointed. If you expected a balanced and open-minded view followed by incontrovertible conclusions backed up by solid evidence and reason, you were disappointed.

If you expected a dense block of bafflegab critical of Israel and supportive of the revolutionary types so beloved of Europeans and citizens of the People's Republic of Berkeley, your guess was spot on, and you win the grand prize!

Quote:
"On 2 July Amnesty International published the most comprehensive report to date, titled Israel/Gaza - Operation 'Cast Lead': 22 Days of Death and Destruction. It suffers from a number of flaws, like neglecting the context of the war and the nature of the Hamas regime in Gaza, an uncritical approach to Palestinian witnesses and sources, selective use of Israeli sources and disregard for sources which contradict the opinions of the investigators, and a disputable view of ambiguous international laws and conventions. "
End quote:

Source: http://www.zionism-israel.com/log/archives/00000707.html

Quote:
"Amnesty's definition of a civilian is rather broad. For instance, police officers are part of the Hamas control apparatus in the Gaza Strip and its military infrastructure, and many were also involved in armed groups like the Al Qassam Brigades. The entire armed branch of Hamas, including the diverse security and guerrilla forces, should be considered a legitimate target in a war, as are its political control apparatus, propaganda institutions and infrastructure. As a matter of fact Hamas censured the media for reporting about the death of Hamas fighters, so the number of reported deaths from Hamas' side may be lower than the real number of their casualties."
End quote.

Commissars, interrogation officers, torturers, goons, strong-arm Johnnies, religious extortionists, bomb makers, and every other badly dressed erratically armed functionary of the Islamic Revolution is perforce a civilian - only people wearing acknowledged military uniforms and pointing something heavy caliber at another person wearing a uniform are 'non-civilians'.
I mention this because it is symptomatic of the thought processes of the Europeans and citizens of the People's Republic of Berkeley when they condemn Israel.

And just so you know, wearing a kippah is an act of naked aggression, and marks the kippah-wearer as a member of the Zionist-Imperialist Aggressor Entity - a legitimate target, in other words. As so often blandly stated by Europeans and citizens of the People's Republic of Berkeley.
[And, just as in Ramallah, Cairo, and Gaza City, wearing a kippah in Europe and the PRofB may get you killed. Or at least revolutionarily roughed up.]

Quote:
"It is unfortunate that an organization as renowned as Amnesty International, which engages in defending human rights worldwide, publishes a report as biased and unfair as the one discussed here. "
End quote

Unfortunate, yes, but surprising, no. It was entirely predictable that they should do so, and it is likewise certain that whenever the cause requires it, they will publish more. What is lamentable is that an organization which, on paper at least, has such a laudable purpose, has become the reserve of the usual crowd of armchair - coffee shop - lectern revolutionaries.

Blood libels and Swedish self-righteousness

When a newspaper publishes scurrilous calumnies about African Americans, Chinese (or Pacific Islander) Americans, Latinos, or even any invented hyphenation of American that feels entitled to grievance, most decent people are outraged, and will gladly support the demand for some kind of redress.

When a newspaper deliberately publishes falsehoods that seek to rile up hatred and discrimination, perhaps the matter is so egregious that they must be condemned by all honest politicians?
Surely the government should speak out against the promotion of racial hatred and bigotry, if only to show that such matters are not tolerated in civilized society?

NOT IN SWEDEN - BIGOTRY IS ENCOURAGED!
Probably because righteous blond übermenshen cannot conceive of the possibility that anything they do might be objectionable. And in any case, the only ones complaining are "those people".
You know, "those people", îck îck pøø!
A vigorous Scandinavian dislike of Jews is a Germanic virtue.

Quote:
"As documented in the Jerusalem Post, Boström freely admits that he has no evidence whatsoever to back up this blood libel, but indicted that it is up to Israelis to prove innocence in this matter. "
End quote.

SOURCE: http://www.bluetruth.net/2009/08/tell-swedish-government-to-condemn.html

Quote:
"This is not an isolated incident, but part of an insidious pattern of Swedish funding of anti-Semitism. As the Post article also noted, "Much of the material in Boström's article came from a book he published in 2001 Inshallah which was jointly financed by the Swedish Foreign Ministry and various other government-backed organizations." "
End quote.

In other words, the Swedish Government is directly involved in promoting lies about, and hatred of, Israel.

[But evenmore! Swedish state agency subsidizes Gothenburg terror conference - revealing Swedish government funding for a symposium seeking to 'remove the PFLP, Hamas and other terrorist organizations from the EU’s terror list', in order that the organizations in question could resume collecting funds legally in Europe. Also on the agenda were a total boycott of Israel and 'developing strategies to explain the need for armed resistance' (terrorism)]

However, Swedish duplicity is well known.

Quote:
"NGO Monitor issued a comprehensive report in June 2009 detailing the history of Swedish official support for NGO's that demonize Israel with the inflammatory rhetoric of "apartheid," "ethnic cleansing," and "massacres.""
End quote.

The quotes above are on BLUE TRUTH, in this post, which you should read in its entirety.
The author, Dr. Mike, urges you to let the Swedish government know that this does not sit well with decent people.

Sheikh Tamimi contradicts the Koran and the hadiths

Following up on Chaim ben David's post detailing the Palestinian Academic position that the Jews have no connection with the Western Wall (aka Wailing Wall, more commonly known as the Kotel), it is interesting to see that Islamic Jurisprudence closely parrots the party line.

One would not have expected clerics to obey corrupt secular liars. But these are Palestinians.

Quote: "The Palestinian Authority's chief Islamic judge, Sheikh Tayseer Rajab Tamimi, said on Wednesday that there was no evidence to back up claims that Jews had ever lived in Jerusalem or that the Temple ever existed."

Source: http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1251145126442

Sheikh Tayseer Rajab Tamimi appears not to have a sound grasp of the meaning of the word 'evidence'.
His knowledge of history sucks, and he's going against the facts. He obviously values obedience to those who issue his paycheck in Ramallah far more than he does the Koran, the hadiths, or the truth.

Quote: "Tamimi claimed that all excavation work conducted by Israel after 1967 "failed to prove that Jews had a history or presence in Jerusalem or that their ostensible temple had ever existed." "

This ridiculous opinion will surely be echoed by the pro-Palestinian crowd in the Bay Area, who are starlingly obtuse and ignorant - "a Palestinian JUDGE said so, so it MUST be true!"

If you repeat a lie often enough....

Previously, Chaim ben David illuminated the similar (and similarly ridiculous) claim by Palestinian Academic Shamekh Alawneh, "modern historian":
http://proisraelbaybloggers.blogspot.com/2009/08/no-jewish-connection-to-western-wall-pa.html
Shamekh Alawneh had asserted that "the Jews invented the connection to the Wall for political purposes".

Quote: "... the creative approach to Palestinian history from Ramallah - it's not just ignorant American and European activists doing the inventing, it's also Arab "academics".
If it weren't for Israel, Palestinian literature would not exist. There would be no poetry, no fiction, no fantasy........"

Palestinians, for both secular studies and religious studies, must have considerably lower standards than even the Europeans, so one waits with baited breath for the next staggering example of ideologically driven ignorance from the mob.
It shall not be long in coming.

I don't think so.

The Peace Dividend

"We are not waiting. We are doing. We are opening roadblocks, we are opening ties, we are opening the roads to peace."
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu

The West Bank economy is flourishing.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), there has been an 18% increase in the West Bank stock exchange with a projected economic growth rate of 7% this year. There has been a 94% growth of tourism to Bethlehem, generating 6,000 new jobs and an 82% rise in trade with Israel. Since 2008, more than 2,000 new companies have been registered with the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. Car imports are up more than 40% in the last year. A new luxurious Hyatt hotel with a swimming pool has also opened in Nablus.

The “peace dividend’ is manifesting itself in with new consumer confidence throughout the West Bank. State of the art shopping malls and a spa have opened. A multiplex theater “Cinema City,” has recently opened in Nablus. It shows four films per day, including the latest Egyptian movies and Hollywood films such "The Dark Knight" and Pilar’s “Wall-E”. Nader Elawy, manager of Cinema City, says “We now have law and order. You can really feel the change.”

Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad’s responsible fiscal policies have led to the new Palestinian economic success- a welcome change after years of corruption under Arafat. Increased security has helped, as well. More than 2,100 members of the Palestinian security forces, armed and trained by U.S. Gen. Keith Dayton, are patrolling the West Bank.

Middle east envoy Tony Blair recently toured Nablus and stated "There's still massive amount to do, but providing we keep building on the security and the economics, and then we add to that a credible political negotiation, what Nablus shows is that change is possible." According to Blair, Israel was not getting enough credit for recent measures to improve conditions for the Palestinian population in the West Bank, such as the removal of roadblocks and checkpoints. The Israeli Army has removed two-thirds of the 41 manned checkpoints that were originally set up around the West Bank after waves of suicide bombings caused thousands of causalities in Israel. The removal of these checkpoints has facilitated the flow of goods and services to and from the West Bank.
There is also increased Israeli-Palestinian cooperation in construction and agriculture, resulting in a 200% increase in agricultural exports and a nearly 1,000% increase in the number of trucks importing produce into the West Bank from Israel.

Strong economic, cultural and social ties between people are the foundation of peace. Support cooperation between the Palestinian and Israeli people.

Saeb Erekat renames Israel

Veteran negotiator Saeb Erekat has a gift for the gab, a veritable silky-smooth talent for oration. He should have gone into marketing.

Quote: "If you want to call yourself the biblical, united, eternal, holy, milk and honey land of Jewish Israel, submit your name to the UN. Your name is the State of Israel."

SOURCE: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1110026.html

ISRAEL - THE BIBLICAL UNITED ETERNAL HOLY MILK AND HONEY JEWISH LAND

That doesn't sound too bad, does it?
To my jaundiced ear it sounds better and friendlier than Konungariket Sverige, República Bolivariana de Venezuela, Konungariket Sverige, Drittes Reich, Konungariket Sverige, Jomhuri-ye Eslami-ye Īrān, Konungariket Sverige, Großdeutsches Reich, Konungariket Sverige, Royal Scottish-Islamic Republic of Uganda, Konungariket Sverige.....

Heck, it even sounds better than Konungariket Sverige.
Oh wait, I already said that. Sorry. I got distracted.

[Remember, focus - focus - focus - konungari - focus - focus - focus... ]

ISRAEL: THE BIBLICAL UNITED ETERNAL HOLY MILK AND HONEY JEWISH LAND

Saeb Erekat answered questions posed by Ha'aretz readers. The results are interesting. As the following quotes make clear:

"I did not wake up one morning as a Palestinian and feel my conscience aching for Israeli or Jewish suffering that I sat with them at the negotiating table, and neither did they. They did not wake up one morning and feel their conscience aching for Palestinian suffering. I don't think we wasted one minute negotiating. I know that Palestinians and Israelis a lot of time don't have eyes that see what has been achieved. We have come a long way in these 18 years."

"Palestinians and Israelis should not despair, we have not wasted one minute in the last 18 years. There have been a lot of changes in the way we look to each other."

"Obama will make not peace for us, it is Palestinians and Israelis that will have to make the decisions."

SOURCE: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1110026.html

Anyhow, read the entire thing yourself, and form your own opinions. Just remember that whatever happens, like all politicians he will claim complete credit for anything positive that eventually results, based on some of what he said, while discounting and fudging his own statements that implied something else entirely.
Which, in all fairness, we've seen before from Israelis, Americans, and Europeans.
In addition to the Arabs, of course.

Still, there have been a lot of changes in the way we look at Saeb Erekat in the last 18 years.

More about Darlene and Donna in San Jose

I was happy to read about the expansion of SF Voice for Israel to San Jose, as grass roots activism is all-important, and Israel advocates don't do enough of it - they are afraid to come out the closet I guess. Jews are always in the front ranks of demonstrations for gay rights, women's rights, African-American rights, labor organization, anti-war demonstrations, Palestinian rights and whathaveyou. When it is a question of Jewish rights, when they must appear in public as Jews to defend Jews, they are a bit reticent.

Here is a bit more about Darlene and Donna Wallach, resident anti-Israelites of San Jose. Evidently they are originally of the Mosaic faith. These Jews are not reticent at all when it comes to dumping on Jewish rights. First, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Aren't they sweet? Doesn't it make you want to sing? Something like this: "She's got a great big scowl. I never cared for a great big scowl, but she's got a great big scowl, and that's my weakness now."

Apparently, they are a traveling anti-Israel circus. They showed up in Fresno, at a Unitarian church, where they announced that Israel is an abomination. Here's the whole story of Donna and Darlene in Fresno. Apparently, even their hosts were embarrassed, and a good time was had by all. Darlene Wallach traveled a bit farther afield it seems, since she was arrested along with other "activists" in a Gaza fishing boat, trying to bring succor to the genocidal Hamas. She got "detained" in Israel:

According to the pro-Palestinian International Solidarity Movement, the foreigners, Andrew Muncie from Scotland, Darlene Wallach from the United States and Vittorio Arrigoni from Italy, are still being held at in Ben Gurion detention facility and are facing deportation.
A delightful pair of females!

Palestinian organs and Jan Helin, Swedish purveyor of rotten herring

The editor of Aftonbladet claims that publishing a venomous blood-libel is the right thing to do. Never mind that there is no evidence. Never mind that the charges clearly serve the extremists. Never mind that the accusations are of the type so often proven deliberately invented.
Never mind even that the only purpose of the accusation is to foment hatred and bigotry against Jews.

JUST THOSE JEWS

There are so very few Jews in Sweden, and so many Muslims, that there is NO point in pandering to the Jews - far better to pander to the Muslims, for the benefit of Swedish society. Thus one may prevent unpleasant street actions, and win brownie points for later.
In addition to currying favor with the Arab nations that produce the fuel for Swedish industry and cars.

Who knows, there may even be an appreciative market for Swedish cured fish products in the Middle East, to match the marked Arab appreciation of Swedish blondes.
Gotta do something to keep up the Swedish impact on civilization, ja.

Jan Helin defended his decision to publish the blood libel, "because it raises a few question".
He further avers that he is a responsible editor, though he admitted that there was no evidence whatsoever for the allegations.

QUESTIONS MUST BE ASKED

The allegations raise questions. Therefore they must be published.

I have heard from several sources that Swedish women have staggeringly loose morals.
This allegation also raises questions.
Additionally, I have been told that Swedish men are insensitive brutes who reek of stale fish.
This allegation also raises questions.
Swedish high-schoolers are hard-drinking alcoholics at an early age, and given to random fits of violence and hooliganism.
This allegation also raises questions.

The kingdom of Sweden is a booze and venereal disease sodden hellhole with a high incidence of genetic defects and inbreeding, the perversion capitol of Europe, and there are gangs of diseased grammar school drop-outs living in the sewer system of Stockholm that come out at night and rape elderly women and foreigners.

Ja, these allegations raise kvestions. Ja.

THE FOUL REEK OF STALE FISH

The scurrilous article, 'They plunder the organs of our sons', was prominently featured in Aftonbladet on Tuesday of last week. Both the writer of the piece (Donald Bostrom), and the newspaper itself are known for their anti-Israel bias. As are, for that matter, many Swedes.
Which explains the Swedish foreign ministry citing 'freedom of the press' as the justification for refusing to condemn the article, and excoriating the Swedish Ambassador to Israel for voicing disapproval after it was published.

A second article featuring the accusation that Israelis steal Palestinian organs was published on Sunday, and Aftonbladet defiantly insisted that Israel prove the contrary, and in any case cease the practice - which the articles suggest has been ongoing since 1992 or before.
Jan Helin and his dear friend Donald Bostrom have made up their minds about the issue, or in any case about the value of spreading the slander.

Sales, advertising revenue, and anti-Semitism - all manifestly good things.

One question that now must be asked is whether there is any human decency in modern-day Sweden.
Can decency even exist in such an environment?
Ja.

San Jose pro-Israel presence

Formerly enemy territory, San Jose area now boasts a vibrant pro-Israel presence. A group of concerned citizens have organized to counter some of the blatant lies, anti-Semitism, and hatred which are standardly promoted by an organization calling itself the South Bay Mobilization.

From the j:

Pro-Israel group expands to S. Bay

http://www.jweekly.com/article/full/39612/pro-israel-group-expands-to-s.-bay/

The staunchly pro-Israel local organization S.F. Voice for Israel has started a new chapter, South Bay Voice for Israel, which will operate across the Peninsula and points south. In addition, S.F. Voice for Israel has formally allied itself with StandWithUs, a national organization. According to spokesperson Mike Harris, the organization will now be called StandWithUs/S.F. Voice for Israel, though he says it will retain operational independence continue to work with local Jewish community institutions.
...................................

Countering the Wallachites

As is well known, The South Bay Mobilization serves primarily as a mouth-piece for the Wallach sisters, Donna and Darlene Wallach, who have over the years become more and more Jew-hating and Arafat-loving. Donna Wallach, 57 years old, standardly refers to Tel Aviv as "occupied Palestine", kept company with Yasser Arafat, socializes with psychopaths (Ishmael Haniyeh, inter alia), and regularly participates in bizarre activities organized by Paul Larudee, Kate Rafael Bender, and other members of their cult.

She has a cat who is normal.

Both Darlene and Donna Wallach enthusiastically support Hamas and wish that organization every success in their effort to ethnically cleanse the Eastern Mediterranean of any trace of Jews and impose a theocratic dictatorship. Both sisters regularly give breathless speeches to others who more or less support the same goal, irrespective of creed or political affiliation - fascist, communist, wahabi, jihadi, or presbyterian.

They may also be available for children's parties - we haven't asked.

The recent Monday pro-Israel counterprotests in San Jose have particularly ired the Wallach twins, who thought they had that intersection all to themselves. Now that truth finally has a voice in San Jose, the sisters may just melt or spontaneously combust.

See you again tomorrow, Donna and Darlene. Please dress more appropriately this time, and brush your teeth - especially if you are going to yell at people.

Also, dump the keffiyehs - those things are SO 2003!
Honest.... can't take you girls anywhere.

If it weren't for the Jews?

Found this on Israpundit:

Falsehood: There is no Palestinian state today because of Israeli aggression and obstinacy.

Truth: There is no Palestinian state today because of Arab aggression and obstinacy. In late 1947, the United Nations approved by a two thirds majority a proposal to create in to create in Western "Palestine" two states to replace the British Mandatory regime there. One would be Jewish and the other a Palestinian Arab state. The Jews agreed. The Arabs rejected the idea. The Arab states launched an attack of genocidal aggression against the Jews, invaded "Palestine" and gobbled up the lands earmarked for the Arab Palestinian state. Most of those lands were then held illegally by Jordan and semi-legally by Egypt until 1967 when they were liberated by Israel in the Six Day War. The Arab world has maintained a state of war with Israel since 1948, refusing to recognize its legitimacy, and attacking Israel over and over in a series of wars and terrorism campaigns. The Arab states attacked Israel in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973, 1982, 2006, and sponsored terrorist atrocities against Jews in Israel since it was created. The reason for the attack which produced the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948 is exactly the same thing that stands in the way of any real peace settlement today.

The 14 Lies Blocking Peace in the Middle East

It is instructive, at this point, to remember the infamous THREE NOS of KHARTOUM.
Which have been reaffirmed by the Fatah members meeting in Bethlehem. Fatah's position, as clarified at that conference, is that until Jerusalem, ALL of Jerusalem, is free of a Jewish presence, there can be NO negotiation. And naturally they agreed that violence is the answer (if, Allah forbid, they don't get their way). 'If I forget thee....' Very well then. What's to negotiate?

Israel Basher Dead at 78

Robert Novak, the great Israel basher on the right has passed.

You know, reading his screeds against Israel reminds me of the crap spewed forth by the likes of Gilad Atzmon. Makes me wonder if Novak owned any of this guy's music.

If the reader is so interested, there's an article about Novak's death & anti-Israel prejudice on the site of Tablet Magazine. Specifically: Darkness Falls.

Peace between Arab and Jew

In 1948 the Jews accepted partition, and offered peace to the Arabs.
The Arabs refused.

In 1967 the Jews won a major war, and wished to discuss peace.
The Arabs refused.

In 1973, the Jews survived an Arab attack on Israel, and repelled those who wished to slaughter them. Again, they desired peace.
The Arabs refused.

Several times since then, more often than can be counted, Israel has tried to achieve peace.
The Arabs refused.

The Arabs do not wish to discuss peace with Israel because Israel speaks from a position of strength. Were Israel to speak from a position of weakness, the Arabs would see no reason to talk peace.

Consequently it is unlikely that there ever will be peace between Arab and Jew.
That being so, why bother treating the Arabs as potential negotiating partners?

Gaza's Newest Boy Band

Ever since ATBOTH's post, I've been dying to learn more about the guys who out-crazied Hamas, and I'm sure everyone else is too.

So strap yourselves in and get ready to rock because today, live from Gaza, we have for you, their Western World debut, the Emirs of Nowhere, the Fanatics of Fundy, JUND ANSAR ALLAH!

The JAA claims to be homegrown and have a loyal Gaza fan base, though this remains unverified. Its members prefer a long wavy look, supposedly in the fashion of Mohammed and his distant cousin, Stonewall Jackson. Their first album, "Why Hamas Sucks" paints their artistic vision in detail: they want strict (er?) Sharia in the Strip and say Hamas' political power has made it sell out and forget its core values, things like oppressing women and anyone who isn't Islamic enough. From their smash single, Dude, You're a Jerk:

"Man, you've changed, it used to be about the Sharia/
Now you won't return my calls, or help me firebomb that pizzeria..."

Their follow-up album, "You bunch of Uncle Tariqs" accuses Hamas of selling out to the evils of secular culture, and of being tools of "Jewish usurpers" and their Christian allies who keep screwing up Muslim efforts in such paradises as Iraq, Afghanistan, and Chechnya. Presumably the JAA would be all over those sweet jihads except for the fact that they're stuck in Gaza and continue to struggle against the most diabolical Jewish weapon invented since matzoh, walls.

JAA is Wahabbi/Salafist in theological orientation, and may be linked to Al Qaeda. The JAA has denied this, saying "nobody owns us, maaan." Hamas, for its part, claims the JAA is sponsored by Fatah, which, if true, would mean Dahlan is apparently taking a page from Israel's old playbook and funding violent Islamic fundamentalists in order to undermine a slightly more moderate enemy, thereby weakening the primary enemy and eventually creating... more violent Jihadi adversaries. Because that's worked really well.

(Also, I didn't know you could be Al Qaeda nutjobs and still accept money from apostate devils like Fatah. I thought there were principles at stake, dammit! Maybe this is like when secular Israelis smirkingly accept money from wackjob evangelicals.)

Following JAA's Charge of the Dim Brigade back in June, famous for its groundbreaking innovations in combining pyrotechnics and horses (PETA is still waiting for them to respond to their angry email), Hamas began to give them the squeeze, wanting to keep the limelight all to itself (this is nothing new for these stage hogs: see Gaza War of 2007). This pressure caused the movement to splinter a little and led to the creation of four smaller groups, or "mini-Qaedas", some of which have vowed that they will keep fighting the good fight during JAA's hiatus. No news yet if the JAA will demand any royalties or claim copyright infringement. I say they fight for their rights. It was their idea to call Gaza an Islamic Emirate, these other guys are just Jibril-come-lately posers.

JAA was led by Super-Sheik Abdel Latid Moussa until last Friday, when he decided to go totally old school on Hamas' ass in an impromptu protest concert outside a mosque in Rafah. Hamas applied their standard measure of peaceful tolerance to the situation by calmly explaining the error of Moussa's perspective, as articulated by that most diplomatic of means, a firing squad. Unless you ask Hamas, in which case the JAA decided to go out with a really big bang for unclear reasons. Hamas won't let any journalists into Gaza to check, so we don't really know.

Latest reports indicate that JAA is presently looking for a new frontman, preferably someone who both plays bass and is bulletproof.

No Jewish connection to Western Wall

Have you ever wondered what the rest of the world watches on television? Surely, you think, they HAVE to be seeing better stuff than I - no world's dumbest compilations, no vicious bitches wearing heels and catfighting in Beverly Hills, no fashion - dance - singing amateurs acting moronic for my delectation.......

Actually, the rest of the world is watching crap.

Palestinian Media Watch

QUOTE:
"Shamekh Alawneh, a lecturer in modern history at Al-Quds Open University, says the Jews invented the connection to the Wall for political purposes, to convince European Jews and Zionists to come to "Palestine."
"It has no historical roots," he said on a television program called Jerusalem - History and Culture. "This is political terminology to win the hearts and the support of the Zionists in Europe, so they would emigrate and come to Palestine. Nothing more!"

End quote

Go ahead and read the rest of the article.

More delightful vignettes of Palestinian truth can be found elsewhere on the Palestinian Media Watch site.

US State Department: Jerusalem is capitol of Palestine

Per the US State Department, as reflected by the United States Consul General, Jerusalem is NOT the capitol of Israel, despite the knesset and government ministries being located there - it is the capitol of Palestine, even though the Palestinian authority is headquartered in Ramallah.

Yes, that is a US government representative that stated that. Your tax dollars at work.

The consulate's website did not mention Israel in any way, and referred only to Palestinian affairs.

A letter requesting clarification received this response:

"Thank you for your feedback on the U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem's Website. Just to clarify, the Consulate General in Jerusalem is the principal representation to the Palestinian Authority. We also provide services to American citizens in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.

"The U.S. embassy to Israel is in Tel Aviv and is focused on the bilateral relationship with Israel. Their website is
http://usembassy-israel.org.il/. The American Center in Jerusalem also provides information about the United States to the Israeli public.
Their website is
http://usembassy-israel.org.il/ac/ .

"Jerusalem is a final status issue. Israel and the Palestinians have agreed to resolve its status during negotiations. We will support their efforts to reach agreements on all final status issues."

SOURCE:
http://zionism-israel.com/israel_news/2009/08/is-this-us-policy-recognize-east.html

It would appear that the State Department has unilaterally decided to deviate from official US policy.

The United States Jerusalem Embassy Act (1995):
"Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel; and the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999".

Section 214 of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act of 2003:
"The Congress maintains its commitment to relocating the United States Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem ... "

U.S House of Representatives concurrent resolution 152 (June 5, 2007):
"Commends Israel for its administration of the undivided city of Jerusalem for the past 40 years, during which Israel has respected the rights of all religious groups;
Reiterates its commitment to the provisions of the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 and calls upon the President and all United States officials to abide by its provisions; "

Despite the Jerusalem Embassy Act being suspended annually by the president in a futile act of pandering to the Europeans and Arabs, the Administration "remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem".
In consequence, official U.S. documents and web sites refer to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Perhaps the State Department considers itself a separate country? Not part of the United States at all?
It's quite possible, after all they do seem at times to act quite contrary to American interests.

Feel free to query Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about this matter.
She is currently at this address:

U.S. Department of State
2201 C Street North West, Washington, DC 20520.
202-647-4000

If you send her a letter, please be polite and courteous, like you would to a leader of a foreign nation, or one of our erstwhile allies who needs to be won over to our side. Do not bring up secondary matters, and keep your epistle simple. Thank you.

RIGHT OF RETURN, OR AN INDEPENDENT PALESTINE?

Hamas deputy leader Abu Marzouk: "We reject any deal that does not recognize the right of return... The Palestinian people will never give up this sacred right. Our people have been fighting for 58 years to achieve the right of return for all those who were expelled from their homeland."

Hamas spokesman Razi Hamad: "(Olmert) is trying to bypass the core of the Palestinian cause, namely the right of return for the refugees."

Statements like these show clearly why one cannot trust the Palestinians.

The claimed 'right of return', if applied equitably across the board, would destroy Israel, and reduce and return Jews to second-class status in the Arab countries they were forced to flee - without improving the conditions of the average Palestinian living in Lebanon, Syria, or Jordan. It would solve nothing, but merely give the Arabs back the first class status they assumed in the countries they conquered.

It is, truth be told, naught more than a demand for Israel's destruction. If the Arabs do not give up the demand of a 'return', there can never be an independent Palestine.

[There actually already is an independent Palestinian state - it's called Jordan, but the government there wants no part of the Palestinian movements. They've had more than enough guff from those folks already, and effectively told the Pals to go fly a kite. Like all Arab governments, they also pay the Pals to keep them at a distance.]

You will undoubtedly note several things:

1. Expelled. The problem with that word is that hardly any Arabs were expelled from the mandate territory - most were encouraged to leave by the Arab states so that they would not get in the way of the victorious Arab armies exterminating the Jews. They were promised that in a few months they would return to take possession of the property of the defeated Jews. There were a number who fled ahead of Zionist forces. And some of them were encouraged forcefully to do so. Which is regrettable, yes, but a very minor issue. The overwhelmingly vast majority of the Arabs who left the mandate territory left because their brother Arabs asked them to do so.

2. Expelled. The problem with that word is that most of the Sephardim who left the Arab lands were expelled. They were forced to leave Arab countries, by Arab leaders, who supported the Arab attempt to loot and despoil the Holy Land and exterminate the Jews. This in contrast to the alleged refugees, who voluntarily left the Holy Land as their brethren suggested, to wait out the war with their relatives in Cairo, Amman, and Beirut.

3 Expelled. The problem with that word is that huge numbers of the 'Palestinians' were expelled from Jordan during Black September, when their attempt to take over the country failed and King Hussein triumphed over Yasser Arafat's forces. Several years later, Yasser Arafat's forces were expelled from Beirut, because once again they had attempted to take over a country - and in that attempt slaughtered several thousand Christian Arabs, and wrecked Lebanon. Several years afterwards the Kuweitis also expelled Palestinians, after their Palestinian guests had enthusiastically supported Saddam Hussein's occupation.

Oslo was, in that regard, a godsend for the Tunisians - who were also mighty relieved to see the last of the Palestinians. The Palestinian cause seems to be largely loot, murder, and take over.

PALESTINIANS: BETTER THAN THE JEWS

It is not that they are more believable than Israelis, or more like everybody else, or more admirable, or more truthful - the problem is that the Israeli cause is identified with Jews. And anyone who believes that Jews will get a fair shake may not have been paying strict attention these last few centuries.

Jews keep pointing out inconvenient truths.
Whereas Palestinians playing the poor little victim card are just so much more lovable.
No wonder you just want to hug them.

POPULATION TRANSFERS

Unless it is recognized that the population transfer implied by the division of the mandate territories has already taken place, there cannot ever be peace between the Israelis and the Arabs.

Most Jews left the Muslim world - let us ignore for the moment that they were forced to leave.

Most non-Jews left the part of the mandate assigned to the Jews - let us ignore for the moment that they did so voluntarily because they were promised a share in the eventual loot.

The net effect is actually remarkably one-sided. Hardly any Jews left in Alexandria, Aden, or Tetouan. Isolated pockets surrounded here and there elsewhere, scattered and defiant.
On the other hand, there are still tons of Arabs left in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Galilea, and Samaria. Nothing but Arabs in Gaza. If the Golan is dense with anything, it is Arabs. Bethelehem is filled with them. So is Nazareth. And Hebron. And Shechem. And.....

Ann Coulter comes out of the closet

No, she isn't gay. At least I hope not - I would NEVER want another woman to suffer!
She came out of the closet as someone who at the very least seems to have issues about Jews. I'm putting it lightly (and trying to avoid that word "anti-Semite" - it's SO overused, don't you think?)
Which is very Christian of her, though many other, normal, Christians have moved on from the middle-ages.

Friar Yid takes her to task:
"Rather than criticize his church or Lynn's professional career as a Church-State Activist, Ann instead prefers to call him a fake minister, (and presumably a fake Christian,) who hates religion. A point she makes by accusing him of being a Jew."

http://friaryid.blogspot.com/2009/08/why-not-just-come-out-and-say-it.html

[It's his opinion piece about Ann Coulter's latest stream of bat's piss, which you may read here, though why you would want to is beyond me. It is utterly vile, as you no doubt expect from her and her cohorts at World Nut Daily. Vomit.]

He (Friar Yid) also takes her apologists to task - several of whom at least claim to be Jewish. Which is NOT unusual. Not only are there Jews who stress their Jewishness on the far left, proudly asserting their Jewishness when slamming Israel or other Jews, but there are also such people on the ultra-right, who make sure that you know they are Jewish when they defend a fellow-traveler who said something 'unfortunate'.

If they were Chinese-American, we would call them banana. Blacks, of course, are familiar with Oreos.

Palestinian organs - a Swedish leftwing obscenity

Palestinians spread blood libel, Swedish newspaper happily assists.

A leading Swedish newspaper reported this week that Israeli soldiers are abducting Palestinians in order to steal their organs, a claim that prompted furious condemnation and accusations of anti-Semitic blood libel from a rival publication.

QUOTE:
"They plunder the organs of our sons," read the headline in Sweden's largest daily newspaper, the left-leaning Aftonbladet, which devoted a double spread in its cultural section to the article.

[cut]

"'Our sons are used as involuntary organ donors,' relatives of Khaled from Nablus said to me, as did the mother of Raed from Jenin as well as the uncles of Machmod and Nafes from Gaza, who all had disappeared for a few days and returned by night, dead and autopsied," writes author Donald Boström in his report.
End quote

Another newspaper, Sydsvenskan, ran an opinion piece under the headline "Antisemitbladet" deliberately twisting Aftonbladet's name.

Quote:
"We have heard the story before, in one form or the other. It follows the traditional pattern of conspiracy theory: a great number of loose threads that the theorist tempts the reader to tie into a neat knot without having been provided with any proven connection whatsoever," writes leading columnist Mats Skogkär of Sydsvenskan.

"Whispers in the dark. Anonymous sources. Rumors. That is all it takes. After all we all know what they [the Jews] are like, don't we: inhuman, hardened. Capable of anything," the opinion piece says. "Now all that remains is the defense, equally predictable: 'Anti-Semitism' No, no, just criticism of Israel."
End quote

Palestine does not exist, and should not exist

Everybody seems to agree that Israel should allow (or enable) the Palestinians to create the state that is rightfully theirs.

Except, it isn't.

Palestine is a geographic term of Roman origin. Palestinians, therefore, are the people who live in Palestine. At present, the "Palestinian" population consists of Jews, Arabs, Turks, Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, and several Baptist missionaries who can't read maps and figure out how to leave (they've been there for almost a century, which is somewhat longer than many of the Arabs).

In 1948 the Jews formed a state in the areas that they controlled. Meaning more or less the areas where they were both a majority and the dominant group. They extended equal rights to non-Jews. The other Arabs were appalled, and with British encouragement (and several ex-Nazis advising them) tried to destroy the new state, fully intending to slaughter the Jews. They failed. The Arab war against Israel was fought by Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq, acting on behalf of the entire Arab umma. The idea of a separate state for "Palestinians" was rejected at that time by the Arabs, and in any case, were unconcerned with the weal or woe of the "Palestinians".
The Arabs lost.

In 1967 the Arabs again fought against Israel, again rejecting the concept of a Palestinian state. This time, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan fought on behalf of the entire Arab umma. The goal was not the creation of a state for Arabs, but the destruction of a state for Jews. The fate of the Palestinians was not germane, exterminating the Jews was, again, the goal.
The Arabs lost.

In 1973, the Egyptian and Syrian armies launched a surprise attack. Their aim was to wipe out the shame of previous failures to slaughter the Jews and conquer Israel. The idea of liberating the Palestinian Arabs, most of whom lived in Jordan and miserable refugee camps in Lebanon, was not foremost, and possibly not even hindmost, in the minds of the generals, sheikhs, and politicians of the Arab world at that time - their lost honor was the fuel that drove their war.
The Arabs lost.

There never has been a Palestinian Arab state.

The Palestinian Arabs exist as a people only in opposition to the Jewish state. Palestinian nationalism, until 1967, existed solely as a hatred of Jews. Since 1967 Palestinian nationalism has been fuelled by the discrimination against "Palestinians" by Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt - who conspire to keep them in camps, or deny them the rights of citizens, though supporting their desire to kill the Jews. The only way that the Palestinian Arabs will win the respect, love even, of other Arabs, is if they restore Arab pride by eradicating the dishonor of three disastrous wars and exterminating the Israelis.

Given that the only reason that there are Palestinians is the existence of Israel, the removal of Israel will mean the end of the Palestinians.

Perhaps that is why the world backs the creation of a Palestinian state.
Two birds with one stone.
